For the first time in years, a Republican has been elected Governor of New Jersey. Honestly, I believed the election would go to the Democrat with ACORN's help.
A Republican has also been elected Governor in Virginia.
This should send a message to Washington, D.C. to stop what they're doing unless they want to retire in 2010.
The last time Republicans won the Gubernatorial seats in Virginia and New Jersey was 1993. Do you remember what happened in 1994? The Contract with America and the Republicans winning control of the US House for the first time in 40 years!
The Republicans did well the first few years they controlled the House. They reformed welfare, balanced the budget along with other positive achievements. Then they became just like Democrats - spending more and more with no end in sight. It was because of their big spending and 'Democrat lite' policies that they lost control of the House in 2006.
I believe the Republicans have learned their lesson and are going back to their roots of limited government and fiscal responsibility. Please, God, let it be so!
