Daniel Webster: “Other misfortunes may be borne, or their effects overcome. Daniel Webster (1782-1852) was the son of a farmer. He became a lawyer, a congressman, a Senator and Secretary of State in two separate administrations. He was a champion for America, the constitution and the liberty enjoyed by its citizens.

Read carefully what he said, above. He passionately states that no matter what calamity befalls America, we can recover from them all accept the loss of our form of government and the loss of our liberty.

We are in the process of losing them both. The federal government has ventured into areas it was never intended to be in. It has intruded into the financial sector and is dictating how much money financial firms will be allowed to pay their employees. It now has ownership of at least 90% of the mortgages in this country. It has intruded into the automotive sector, fired its CEO and taken ownership of a private company. Just a few days ago, the U.S. House voted to eliminate all banks and financial firms from the student loan market so that only the federal government will be allowed to give loans to students. And, of course, it is desperately trying to take over the entire health care system and, thereby, giving them complete control over every aspect of our lives.

What has happened to our nation? When did we stop using the Constitution of the United States to guide our decisions in governing?

Read Daniel Webster’s quote, again. "Who shall frame together the skillful architecture which unites national sovereignty with the States rights, individual security, and public prosperity? No, if these columns fall, they will be raised not again." We are dangerously close to allowing these columns to fall.

We are under attack from our own federal government. These men and women swore an oath to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” The size, scope and power of the federal government are quickly becoming our enemy. We must get off of our couches and get involved before we are devolved into a third world nation.

What shall we do? Get involved politically in your local community. Pay attention to what is going on in our nation’s capital. Pay attention to how your Representatives and Senators are voting on each piece of legislation. Call and write to your representatives letting them know how you want them to vote on issues they consider and, finally, vote. In 2010, all 435 members of the U.S. House and one third of the U.S. Senate will be up for election. Choose wisely. Our future and our precious freedom depend on We the People.

George Washington's Farewell Address

The Father of our Country spoke his farewell address to the nation on this date 213 years ago. He served two terms as President and then willingly went home instead of running for a third term. He set an example that would be copied by every President after him until FDR decided he wanted to be President for life. Our Constitution had to be amended to stop men from serving more than two terms because of FDR's refusal to step down.

I believe term limits should be imposed on every member of Congress, as well. Our government was set up with the idea that all men would serve for a short time, go home and give another citizen the chance to serve in the government.

Where are these statesmen today? Where are the selfless men and women who put their country first and go to Washington, D.C. for one or two terms and then go home to live under the laws they created? Where are the citizen legislators?

We the People have no one to blame but ourselves. We stopped electing honest, God fearing men and put dishonest men in office who want nothing more than to live off the People and enrich themselves at the expense of destroying our nation.

God, have mercy on us all!

On September 17, 1787 the Constitution of the United States was signed by the Founding Fathers of our nation. These men put their fortunes, their honor and their lives in jeopardy in order to form a more perfect union.

They formed the most unique nation in history comprised of several individual sovereign nation states. They also created a limited central government and expected future generations to treasure and keep what they had fought so hard to create.

We have failed them all. We have allowed the federal government to step outside of it's Constitutional authority for over a generation and now they threaten to control every aspect of our lives. We the People must reclaim the authority given to us by our founding documents and tell the federal government they have gone too far. They must operate within the boundaries set forth 222 years ago today.

On page 425 it says in black and white that EVERYONE on Social
Security, (will include all Senior Citizens and SSI people) will
go to MANDATORY counseling every 5 years to learn and to choose
from ways to end your suffering. Health care will be denied based
on age.
500 Billion will be cut from Seniors healthcare. The only way
for that to happen is to drastically cut health care, the oldest
and the
sickest will be cut first. Paying for your own care will not be
an
option.
Now, CALL YOUR PEOPLE IN WASHINGTON! Tell them to read page 425
if they don't read anything else. Surely some of them have
parents.

In 1787-88, during the debates concerning the adoption of the United States Constitution, a series of articles were published in the New York Journal. Their author, Publius, urged the ratification of the constitution declaring that the central government would be small in scope and limited in power.
The Founding Fathers left a road map of what our government was supposed to look like and what the powers of our government were to be. The most important part of the foundation of this government was and still is, the people. It was our responsibility to elect honest, wise men that would be certain to keep the central government in its place and not let it override its authority granted by us.
As we read these articles today, known as The Federalist, has our nation adhered to the principles set forth by Publius (better known as Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay) or have We the People allowed the central government to grow into a behemoth that threatens to choke the last gasps of freedom from our lives and our land?
