Obama Continues to Bankrupt America

We have no money and yet Obama is planning to build a new, $1B embassy in London because London residents don't like the security required at the present embassy.
WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY!! This new embassy will have a 100 foot wide moat around it! If we need to use this medieval technique for security, why are we there? Instead of building a new embassy, let's close the present embassy. The residents don't want it so let's close it! Perhaps, we can build a new one in ten or fifteen years but until then, we don't need it.
Actually, I wonder if we need foreign embassies at all in this day and age. With the technologies of today, we could possibly eliminate these unneeded expenses and begin cutting the bloated federal budget. Once we are back on our feet, we could begin re-opening each embassy if it is needed.
More and more, I believe Obama really is trying to collapse the US economy. No one in their right mind would spend like he is and daily add to the enormous spending. Is there no one who can, constitutionally, stop this man from "fundamentally transforming America?" Lord, have mercy!

The Battle of Iwo Jima
On February 23, 1945 the United States Marines raised our flag on Iwo Jima. It was day five of a thirty-five day battle in World War II.
The US sent 110,000 Marines in 880 ships into this battle. At the end of the battle, there were 6,821 Marines dead and 19,217 wounded. Think about those numbers. Almost 7,000 dead and over 19,000 wounded in 35 days. When you consider those numbers from one battle and then hear the number killed in Iraq (4,378 in eight years!) and Afghanistan (1,000 in eight years!), you begin to realize the toll World War II had on America.
The United States was in World War II from 1941-1945 and suffered 416,800 military deaths from the war. These men were 'The Greatest Generation.'

George Washington

On this date, in 1732, George Washington was born in Virginia. Unlike our current president, Washington was a humble man of character and integrity who did not desire to rule the lives of every American but instead fought for the freedom of America.
On July 2, 1776, from his headquarters in New York, General Washington issued this order:
The time is now near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and themselves consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will deliver them.
The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage of this army. Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves us only the choice of brave resistance, or the most abject submission. We have, therefore to resolve to conquer or die.
The famous account of his resolution was given by Isaac Potts, who was General Washington’s temporary landlord at Valley Forge:
In 1777 while the American army lay at Valley Forge, a good old Quaker by the name of Potts had occasion to pass through a thick woods near headquarters. As he traversed the dark brown forest, he heard, at a distance before him, a voice which as he advanced became more fervid and interested.
Approaching with slowness and circumspection, whom should he behold in a dark bower, apparently formed for the purpose, but the Commander-in-Chief of the armies of the United Colonies on his knees in the act of devotion to the Ruler of the Universe!
At the moment when Friend Potts, concealed by the trees, came up, Washington was interceding for his beloved country. With tones of gratitude that labored for adequate expression he adored that exuberant goodness which, from the depth of obscurity, had exalted him to the head of a great nation, and that nation fighting at fearful odds for all the world holds dear…
Soon as the General had finished his devotions and had retired, Friend Potts returned to his house, and threw himself into a chair by the side of his wife. “Heigh! Isaac!” said she with tenderness, “thee seems agitated; what’s the matter?”
“Indeed, my dear” quoth he, “if I appear agitated ‘tis no more than what I am. I have seen this day what I shall never forget. Till now I have thought that a Christian and a soldier were characters incompatible; but if George Washington be not a man of God, I am mistaken, and still more shall I be disappointed if God does not through him perform some great thing for this country.”
Henry Muhlenberg, pastor of the Lutheran church near Valley Forge and one of the founders of the Lutheran Church in America, noted concerning General Washington:
I heard a fine example today, namely, that His Excellency General Washington rode around among his army yesterday and admonished each and every one to fear God, to put away the wickedness that has set in and become so general, and to practice the Christian virtues. From all appearances, this gentleman does not belong to the so-called world of society, for he respects God’s Word, believes in the atonement through Christ, and bears himself in humility and gentleness. Therefore, the Lord God has also singularly, yea, marvelously, preserved him from harm in the midst of countless perils, ambuscades, fatigues, etc., and has hitherto graciously held him in His hand as a chosen vessel.
This is the Father of our Country. A true man of God. A man of principle that wasn’t changed by circumstances or popular opinion.
Once the Revolutionary War was won by Washington, the people of this country would have made him King, but he declined. Instead, he submitted to their desire for him to be our first President and after two terms, he stepped down to give another man the chance to serve his country in the highest office in the land. The example he set by this humble act was adhered to by every man that followed him in office until the 1930s, when Franklin Delano Roosevelt decided he did want to be King of the United States. Elected four times to the presidency, it was because of his insatiable ambition that a constitutional amendment was passed limiting the presidency to two terms.
What a contrast these two men are. Washington fought for the freedom of America while Roosevelt brought more of the seeds of socialism into our government to enslave the citizens of this country. We now have in office the son of Roosevelt who is doing everything possible to build on the foundation laid by FDR so the federal government will have the power to control our daily lives.
Washington fasted and prayed to the Lord for guidance and the result was a free people with limitless opportunity. We, as a nation, have allowed God to be removed from our town squares and from our schools by the decrees of our court system run by godless men and women. We have allowed a generation of Americans to be killed before entering the world and we have elected godless men and women to every high office in the land for generations. The result is a steady loss of liberty and a government of tyranny unquestioningly smothering the people.
Do you really desire “hope and change?” Do you really want what the Founding Fathers fought and died to give us? We must repent and seek the God of our Fathers. True hope only comes from our Creator and change comes from the Lord who created mankind and has the ability to change hearts from evil to good. Until we, as a nation, truly submit to God and repent we can expect the bad times of today to continue and become the catastrophic times of tomorrow.

In effect, President Obama’s summit will create a surrogate legislative process, without the procedural safeguards provided by the Constitution and the rules of each house. There will be no conference committee to iron out the difficult details of the bill. More importantly, there will be no filibuster to protect the objections of the minority. The President, not newly elected Senator Scott Brown, will cast the proverbial 41st vote to end debate.
In his State of the Union address, President Obama attacked the independence of the other two branches of government. He announced he would circumvent the Senate after it rejected his budget panel, and he rebuked the Supreme Court. Team Obama's Podesta Lives in Parallel Universe
This Financial Times interview with John Podesta is amazing. He believes Democrats will be beaten at the polls this November if they don't pass the government takeover of health care! He believes the Tea Party movement is a manufactured movement started by the Republican Party leadership.
He believes Scott Brown won the Senate seat in Massachusetts because people are upset with the way things are transpiring in Washington but the election was not a rejection of Obama's agenda! Did anyone tell Podesta that when Brown was on the campaign stump, he proclaimed himself to be the 41st vote against ObamaCare? Brown even started signing his autograph as '41.' The people believed Brown and elected Mr. 41.
Of course, he told the reporter that the Republicans are the party of 'No' and they have managed to stop Obama's plans since he got elected. Beam me up, Scotty!! For six months, the Democrats had a super majority in the US Senate with a clear majority in the US House. Please, explain how the Republicans were able to stop anything these radicals brought to the floor! They couldn't and they didn't. What they have done is let the Marxist Democrats own every piece of legislation for the past year and when all of it fails, the Democrats will have no cover. They will have to explain their disastrous programs with no one to take the blame but themselves.
However, listen carefully to Podesta. Throughout the interview, he implies his disgust with our political system and at one point he declares that... "it sucks!" Mr Podesta (aka Mr. Progressive) like all of the other radical, progressives in Washington, doesn't want a Constitution to hinder their progressive agenda. They want full control so they can dictate to the country how we will be allowed to live our lives. That is the ultimate goal.
The Presidential power of Executive Order is the next step in fulfilling their Marxist-Leninist agenda. We are at a crossroads. Once again, it is 'A Time for Choosing.' What will America choose? If we choose the way of our Founding Fathers, we must find a way to stop the jackboots that are marching throughout our nation's capitol and return to our roots of limited government and individual freedom.
May God have mercy on America.

Abraham Lincoln

On February 12, 1809, the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, was born in Hardin County, Kentucky. Lincoln came from a poor area and poor family.
He is worshiped as the greatest President our country has ever had but was he? Instead, was he a tyrant that used a civil war to increase the power of the federal government and, as Obama famously said, ‘fundamentally change America?’
I’m sure most of you don’t realize it is not unconstitutional to secede from the Union. Actually, I seem to remember thirteen colonies that seceded from the British Empire in 1776. The Founding Fathers were experts on secession and even the staunchest central government champion, Alexander Hamilton, knew the states were sovereign; they could secede if they desired and force should not be used in order to keep them in the Union. In The Real Lincoln, on page 89, Thomas DiLorenzo quotes Hamilton from The Federalist 81,
It is inherent in the nature of sovereignty not to be amenable to the suit of any individual without its consent. This is the general sense and the general practice of mankind; and the exemption, as one of the attributes of sovereignty, is now enjoyed by the government of every State in the Union…. The contracts between a nation and individuals are only binding on the conscience of the sovereign, and have no pretensions to a compulsive force. They confer no right of action, independent of the sovereign will. To…authorize suits against States for the debts they owe…could not be done without waging war against the contracting State…, a power which would involve such a consequence, would be altogether forced and unwarranted.
On page 115, DiLorenzo also spells out the reason secession was not forbidden in the Constitution:
The advocates of secession always understood that it stood as a powerful check on the expansive proclivities of the federal government and that even the threat of secession or nullification could modify the federal government’s inclination to overstep its constitutional bounds. A case can be made that secession would ‘destroy’ such extra-constitutional abuses of power; perhaps that is what Lincoln had in mind when he used such language. The right to secede is not expressly prohibited by the Constitution. Moreover, at the constitutional convention, a proposal was made to allow the federal government to suppress a seceding state, but that proposal was rejected after James Madison said,
A Union of the States containing such an ingredient seemed to provide for its own destruction. The use of force against a State, would look more like a declaration of war, than an infliction of punishment, and would probably be considered by the party attacked as a dissolution of all previous compacts by which it might be bound.
In defending the individual right to bear arms embodied in the Second Amendment to the Constitution, Madison invoked the right of armed secession.
Even Abraham Lincoln believed in secession while still a congressman from Illinois and said this on the floor of Congress in 1848,
Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government and to form one that suits them better. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people that can, may make their own of such territory as they inhabit. More than this, a majority of any portion of such people may revolutionize, putting down a minority intermingling with or near them who oppose their movement.
What happened to Lincoln after he was elected President? What made him decide to invade the southern states instead of allowing them to secede? The North could have survived as a thriving country without the South. What was it that changed Lincoln into a man that desired to destroy States Rights and the sovereignty of the individual States? Why did he want the federal government to have all power over the sovereign states? Did you know that before the Civil War when referencing the US, the appropriate phrase was, ‘The United States are’ instead of ‘The United States is’?
Our government didn’t just change in the past generation. It changed during the 1860s when Abraham Lincoln used the power of the military to stomp out the freedom of the Southern States.
Don’t misunderstand me, I’m not advocating that we still have slavery in this country, but why did we have to fight a civil war to abolish slavery? Dozens of countries managed to end slavery without civil war. Why didn’t we? Slavery was not the reason for the Civil War.
In the foreword to The Real Lincoln, Walter E. Williams wrote the following:
In 1831, long before the War between the States, South Carolina Senator John C. Calhoun said, ‘Stripped of all its covering, the naked question is, whether ours is a federal or consolidated government; a constitutional or absolute one; a government resting solidly on the basis of the sovereignty of the States, or on the unrestrained will of a majority; a form of government, as in all other unlimited ones, in which injustice, violence, and force must ultimately prevail.’ The War between the States answered that question and produced the foundation for the kind of government we have today: consolidated and absolute, based on the unrestrained will of the majority, with force, threats, and intimidation being the order of the day. Today’s federal government is considerably at odds with that envisioned by the framers of the Constitution.
This is the true legacy of Abraham Lincoln.

Ronald Wilson Reagan

On this date, in 1911, Ronald Wilson Reagan was born in the state of Illinois. During his life, he was a lifeguard, a motion picture star, a television star, a radio star, president of the Screen Actors Guild, two term Governor of California and two term President of the United States.
Reagan was originally a member of the Democrat Party and switched to the Republican Party in 1962. He famously said, "I didn't leave the Democrat Party. The party left me."
Reagan was a true conservative who believed in American exceptionalism, a small federal government, low taxes, states rights and individual liberty. In short, he believed the words written by our Founding Fathers in the Constitution of the United States. He was the greatest President in my lifetime and the more I learn about him, the more I yearn for another President that shares his values and beliefs.
Reagan truly did bring "hope and change" to America and the people loved him for it. Unlike President Obama, Reagan knew the solutions to America's problems and in his first inaugural address he said, "In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem." Reagan spent the next eight years getting government out of our way and giving the people hope and change to believe in. His speeches were not political rhetoric - he meant what he said, acted to strengthen our country and acted to give more freedom to the people. Politicians continue to quote Ronald Reagan to this day.
It's also a coincidence that Governor Sarah Palin, who is a Reagan conservative, is giving the key note address at the Tea Party Convention tonight on Ronald Reagan's birthday.
I truly believe if he had been alive in 1776, he would have been one of the Founding Fathers of our nation because he so strongly believed everything the Founders believed.
There have been countless books written about Reagan and I can't cover everything I would like in this limited forum but I would like to put up a few links for your further study. As you read more about him and listen to his speeches, you'll understand why so many Americans loved him and why he is still referred to by politicians during every election cycle.
